RJP-Nepal will participate in election: CEC Yadav

DHANUSHA, Aug 20: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has said that the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal would participate in the third round of local-level election after choosing one of the election symbols out of six election symbols of erstwhile Madhes-based parties.

DHANUSHA, Aug 20: Chief Election Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has said that the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal would participate in the third round of local-level election after choosing one of the election symbols out of six election symbols of erstwhile Madhes-based parties.

At a news conference in Janakpur today, CEC Yadav said the RJP-Nepal is going to contest the local-level election being held in Province no. 2 on September 18 as per the political agreement.


He said that discussion was underway with the government to hold federal and provincial election in 31 mountainous and hilly districts on November 20.

On the occasion, CEC Yadav said, "In the third phase of local elections a monitoring committee will investigate and take action against the appointment of employees for the purpose of the election carried out without following the due process and against the use of children in the election process."
