KATHMANDU, March 28: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has selected Lakshmi Gurung as its candidate for the by-election in the Ilam constituency 2.
RPP Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that Gurung was selected as the candidate by the party's parliamentary committee meeting held on Thursday.

The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled the by-election in Ilam for April 27. The CPN-UML has selected the party’s late leader Subash Chandra Nemwang's son Suhang Nemwang as its candidate.
Other major parties Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Center), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) have not finalized the names of their candidates for the by-elections.
