Dhangadi, July 7: The ruling side and the opposition parties have finally come to an agreement to resume the meeting of the Sudur Paschim State Assembly. It was being obstructed repeatedly since the tabling of the budget for the new fiscal year 2019/20.
The meeting held between the two sides to end the deadlock ended in a positive note, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader Dr Rana Bahadur Rawal said. The meeting was held on Saturday.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Planning Jhapat Bahadur Bohara, who also attended the meeting, expressed the confidence that the meeting of SA called for today would take place without any obstruction. Serious deliberations were held to end the deadlock seen in the functioning of the State Assembly, he said.
Minister Bohara however did not divulge the contents of agreement reached between the two sides.
Since the deadlock, deliberations on the budget for 2019/20, and policy and programmes of the State government have not been held. The budget was tabled on June 16. The main opposition, NC and the Rastriya Janata Party have alleged the government of introducing a cadre-friendly budget in a transparent manner, and by violating the due procedures.
Repeated rounds of dialogue between the two sides earlier had failed to bear fruit. The meeting of the State Assembly has been called for 8:30 am today, according to SA Secretariat Secretary Ram Singh Dhami.
