Russian ‘ATM hacker’ lands in police net

KATHMANDU, April 3: Police have arrested a Russian national on the charge of stealing money from the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) booth of Nepal Investment Bank, Dubar Marg.

KATHMANDU, April 3: Police have arrested a Russian national on the charge of stealing money from the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) booth of Nepal Investment Bank, Dubar Marg.



Vosil Alex Sosnov, 32, was caught while he was stealing money by hacking the ATM pin at the ATM booth.

Police have seized 54 ATM cards embossed with ‘Pro Invent 9325’ from his possession.  He landed in the police net after his card got stuck in the ATM booth.


Police have also seized Rs 144,350 and a mobile phone set from his possession.


According to police he was carrying 144 banknotes of Rs 1000 denomination.
