Sajha Party to partake in local polls indirectly

Sajha Party(SP) has invited people to contest the local polls representing it as an independent candidate since it has no other option than to wait for few months for registering itself with the Election Commission(EC).

KATHMANDU, March 21: Sajha Party(SP) has invited people to contest the local polls representing it as an independent candidate since it has no other option than to wait for few months for registering itself with the Election Commission(EC).  



“The long-awaited local polls is not only an opportunity to exercise democratic rights but also an opportunity to elect local leaders for local development”, the press release issued on Tuesday states.

Sajha Party will support any independent candidate supporting its principles, the press release states.


But the SP has stated that it would not be in a position to help such candidates financially citing that it will not have a legal right to collect donation until it registers itself with the EC.
