KATHMANDU, July 30: The Sajha Yatayat, a cooperative public transport organization which has been operating 16 buses inside Kathmandu Valley, is likely to add 30 new buses in its fleet by mid-August.
“If everything goes as per our plans, we will be able to add 30 new buses by mid-August,” said Mahendra Raj Pandeya, manager of Sajha. “We have so far not finalized the routes for those buses as we need to register in government bodies to get the route permit to operate those buses.”

Sajha officials have informed that each bus will have a capacity of 40 seats and will be disabled-friendly as well.
The Sajha is importing the new buses as per an agreement with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office that provided Rs 100 million assistance to the cooperative. The KMC has got share equity for that investment.
The buses will have two doors each. The back door can carry wheelchair inside the bus and the officials believed that it will provide huge relief for the disabled people in travel.
According to Pandeya, those buses will be the features like automatic doors, CCTV cameras and TV screens. Likewise, the officials claimed that at least 100 passengers can travel in each bus.
The KMC had decided to provide 100 million to Sajha with a hope to improve public transport in Kathmandu.
