Unidentified group opens fire on Samajbadi local leader in Kapilbastu

KAPILBASTU, August 1: An unidentified gang has opened fire on a local leader of Samajbadi Party Nepal in the district on Thursday.

KAPILBASTU, August 1: An unidentified gang has opened fire on a local leader of Samajbadi Party Nepal in the district on Thursday. Ram Nayar Yadav, 40, a resident of Shuddhodhan rural municipality-5, Bichauwapur has sustained an injury on his shoulder in the incident.



Yadav was en route to Taulihawa from Lumbini on his motorcycle (Lu 19 Pa 4443) when he was attacked by a group of six men at Titirihaya in the rural municipality.

Yadav is a member of the district working committee of the party. He is now in Taulihawa-based party office after undergoing treatment at a local hospital.


Yadav has accused some persons including Om Prakash Chaudhary alias Lala and Anil Chaudhary of getting involved in the incident. Talking to Republica Online, Yadav said that the men have fled to the southern part of the incident site adding that he would lodge a complaint against them.


Meanwhile, Samajbadi Party has condemned the incident and urged the local administration to take action against the culprits.
