KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Roshani Syangbo, 29, is an aspiring theater artist with only two years’ experience in the scene. During her short journey, she has so far been featured in two mainstream plays — ‘Conference of the Birds’ and ‘Witch’.

Sociable and friendly in nature since her childhood, Syangbo opted to join the art bandwagon to explore her soft side. Recalling her early days, Syangbo said she used to speak in front of mirrors pretending a comb to be a mike and often recorded her voice to hear it later. “I used to participate in poem competitions during my school days and two of my poems were published in the newspaper,” she said.

Her strong and confident personality helped Syangbo earn a few coveted mentors like RJ Ambika Pradhan who acknowledged her talent and encouraged her to talk at radio programs as a guest. This is how she gradually adopted with the environment at radio stations and worked as an actor in social radio dramas. Some of her radio dramas include ‘Mai Sari Sunakhari’, ‘Mitini’, ‘Bhancin Aama’, and ‘Naya Bato Naya Paila’ and ‘Katha Mala’ among others.
