Six Indians who earlier tested positive for coronavirus discharged after recovery

BIRATNAGAR, May 6: Six coronavirus patients, who had been undergoing treatment at Biratnagar-based Koshi Hospital, discharged Wednesday morning after they tested negative twice.



Amid a program on the hospital premises, Social Development Minister of Province 1, Jeevan Ghimire bade farewell to the discharged persons.

However, they will not be allowed to go back home immediately. They will be kept at a mosque in Biratgar for a week, according to hospital authorities.


The patients are from New Delhi, India, who were brought to Biratnagar after being infected by the deadly virus in Udayapur last month. The discharged patients were among 13 Indian nationals who tested positive for virus at a mosque in Udayapur.


The Indian patients who are undergoing treatment at Koshi Hospital belong to Tablighi Jamaat community. Another seven Indians are currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.


With six more patients winning COVID-19, the number of patients who have recovered has reached 22. Of the 82 confirmed cases so far, Nepal has 60 active cases now while no death has been reported yet.
