Winning someone’s attention or getting noticed by a person you admire isn’t easy. It’s true that you can learn to make a good first impression with positive body language and confidence but that takes time and effort. What if you need to make a quick impression and you are low on your confidence level at that time? Well, here’s what you can do if you want to get noticed quickly.

Smile

That’s pretty simple and effortless, right? Trust us, no one can ignore a smile and according to a study, smiling and nodding is the best way to catch someone’s attention, even if that person happens to be a stranger.

Pay attention to win attention

If you want someone to show interest in you, you need to do the same as well. One of the ways to do that is to ask the person a question and then listen genuinely to what he or she has to say. People love to talk about themselves and they certainly love those who pay attention to them. Hence, to get attention, first learn to pay attention!

Mirror the person’s behavior

Mirroring is defined as that behavioral trait by which one person subconsciously imitates the gesture, speech pattern, or attitude of another. When you mirror someone else’s behaviour, it attracts the other person’s attention. But don’t overdo it because excessive mirroring can rub off the wrong way instead of getting noticed.

Say hello

If you want to win someone's attention, the easiest thing to do is to greet the person. When you say hello or wish a person when you see him or her, you will definitely get a response. This way the person will also notice you and will be aware of your presence, which would open the gate for further conversation.

Getting introduced through common friends

Sometimes, getting introduced through a common friend can make things easier. You can always ask a friend to get you introduced to the person or join your friends in a get together where the person is also present.

Sharing common interest

Birds of the same feather flock together. And it holds true for people as well. For this, you need to do a little research and find out what the person’s hobbies are or where his interest lies. For example, if he likes reading, you can always carry a book of his favourite author when you are in close proximity and this will surely catch his notice. But make sure that you have read the book before doing so.
