Shyam Krishan Kayastha is a 50-year-old farmer. For over 30 years he has been following that monotonous routine. He travels around Machindra Bahal and Nardevi. He sells vegetables in Kharpan. Some of the vegetables that he sells are from his own farm whereas others are the vegetables that he bought in Khasibazar. After selling vegetables throughout the day, Kayashtha advances back to his home and works in his farm in Madhyapur Thimi.” Since I work and earn, I am not under pressure. Had I not been earning, there would be loads of tensions. Other than that, life is fun,” said Shyam. According to him, things have changed over the years, but his life is still the same: selling vegetables and spending on what he needs.
