KATHMANDU, March 16: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has directed the National Sports Council (NSC) not to hold events other than sports in Dashrath Stadium due to the weak ground condition.



The ministry issued a statement on Friday, stating that Nepal will not be able to host FIFA World Cup qualifiers at its home ground because of the poor condition of the field.

As the Dashrath Stadium is currently being used for private sponsorships, the Ministry of Sports issued a statement highlighting the management's responsibility.


On Friday, the ministry called on the National Sports Council to repair Dashrath Stadium through its official Facebook page. In the announcement, the ministry stated its preparation to release procedures with standards for stadiums nationwide and to publish the sports calendar.
