KATHMANDU, Jan 22: The Standard Chartered Bank has celebrated its 10-year long partnership with the reigning European Champion, Liverpool Football Club (LFC) last week. As part of the celebration of the important milestone, the bank organized an event, ‘Red for a Day’, where employees around the globe were encouraged to unite around the power of partnership and wear red for a day on January 16.
All the staffs dressed in red were given an opportunity to enter various competitions and win a trip to watch the club play live at the Anfield Stadium, the English Premier League leader’s home ground in England.
The bank also hosted a quiz contest for its staff members where winners won signed LFC jerseys and other LFC-branded merchandise officially sent by the prestigious club. There was also a fundraiser penalty shoot-out competition which was participated by more than 100 staff.

All proceeds generated from the event were donated to the bank’s sustainability program.
The Bank renewed its sponsorship contract with Liverpool in 2018 and the relationship with the club was extended to the end of the 2022-23 season, making it the second-longest sponsorship deal in club’s history.
Founded in 1892, Liverpool FC is one of the world’s historic and famous football clubs, having won 18 League Titles, seven FA Cups, eight League Cups, six European Cups, three UEFA Cups, four European Super Cups and one Club World Cup.
