LALITPUR, March 3: The Lalitpur Metropolis has witnessed mess due to prevalence of street shops alongside the busy roads of the city.

The vehicle drivers, pedestrians and local business people have been much disappointed due to pervasive street shops.

Though the road sides were vacated for some days when the metropolis came up with tough measures in the recent past, it did not last long.

The traffic movement has also been marred when the half of the roads are being occupied by street vendors.

Vice-Chairperson of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce Rabindra Raj Tamrakar said the street market has been a long-term problem of the city. "Even the tourists coming here also do not feel good due to obstruction of roads caused by street shops", he added.

Municipal Police Chief Kadam Lal Maharjan said the Lagankhel-Mangalbazaar road section is much occupied by street vendors which require urgent management.(RSS)
