KATHMANDU, April 22: Teachers, students and individuals from various walks of life held a civic demonstration and gathering to creatively pressure for the transformation of public education at Maitighar Mandala to mark Global Action Week for Education (GAWE) 2024.
During the march, the demonstrators carried placards that read ‘Accountability for education delivery’, ‘Tax pays for trained teachers’, ‘Inclusive, Equitable, safe and healthy schools’, ‘Prioritize public education now’, ‘Free quality public education is possible’, ‘Education is a right not a commodity’ etc.
