KATHMANDU, March 5: Sudurpaschim Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Bahadur Shah is scheduled to take the vote of confidence today.

Earlier, after Rajendra Singh Rawal of the CPN-UML was not given a vote of confidence by the Nagarik Unmukti Party, Shah of the Nepali Congress was appointed as the CM on February 9.
There is a provision that the Chief Minister appointed in accordance with Article 168 of the Constitution shall receive a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly within 30 days of his appointment in accordance with the same article.
On the other hand, the Sudurpaschim Province Parliamentary Party of CPN (Maoist Centre) has decided not to give a vote of confidence to Chief Minister Shah.
