ITAHARI, Oct 7: Sunsari has recorded two more coronavirus-related deaths.



A 68-year-old male from Itahari-7, who was in critical condition after being diagnosed with coronavirus, died at his residence at 1AM on Wednesday.


The man had tested positive for coronavirus while undergoing PCR test in Biratnagar. As his health condition further worsened, family members contacted Koshi Hospital Biratnagar and Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) to admit him with ventilator support. However, the hospitals said ventilator support would not be available immediately.

Eventually, the patient was brought back home and breathed his last this morning. The deceased was also a tuberculosis patient.


Likewise, Ram Nirauala, a local leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party, succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Tuesday night. Nirauala, who was a resident of Duhabi, Sunsari, breathed his last at Grande Hospital in Kathmandu. Earlier, he had tested positive for the virus. He was also a pneumonia patient.


As of today, five persons have died of coronavirus in Itahari area.
