‘The Ethical Self and Animal Safety Awareness’, a campaign led by Facilitator Corporate Programs Nepal strapped reflective collars on cows, bulls, and calves around the capital on Saturday. The event saw active involvement of the members of Association of St Mary's Alumnae Nepal, Kathmandu Engineering College and Pet for Your Pet.  Likewise, the campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the plight of street animals and minimizing accidents during the night time caused by these street dwellers.

In the guidance of the team from ‘Vet for Your Pet’ from Bhaktapur, the participants collectively collared about 50 calves and bulls. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Chhetri of Kalimati Metropolitan Police Circle also lent his hands to the participants.

Gita Satyal, Deputy Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, also joined the cause where she talked to the students about the active participation of youth in such initiative. Inspired by the initiative, she expressed the interest of the Metropolitan to initiate a similar project in Lalitpur in the near future.

The initiative also hopes to draw the attention of the local authorities and respond from their side to solve this growing problem. Despite efforts of rehabilitation of these livestock, their number on the streets keeps increasing. Therefore, to encourage such shelters, the organizers are also focused on promoting self-sustainable and environment-friendly revenue generation ideas at such sanctuaries.
