Talks only if arms and violent activities are shunned: DPM Pokharel

BIRATNAGAR, July 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Ishwar Pokharel, has said that the government would forward process for talks with Netra Bikram Chand-led group only if the group gives up arms and violent activities.

BIRATNAGAR, July 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Ishwar Pokharel, has said that the government would forward process for talks with Netra Bikram Chand-led group only if the group gives up arms and violent activities.

Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport on Monday evening, Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel shared that the government has not officially forwarded process for a dialogue with Chand-led group. He said that the government has registered media council bill and bill related to other commissions in the Parliament, saying correction should be made on the bills by holding discussion there if there are some mistakes.


Saying there was no dissatisfaction of anyone over the issue of appointment of district in-charges in the standing committee member of the Nepal Communist Party; Pokharel said remaining works related to party unification would be carried out on the basis of a consensus.
