One arrested for black marketeering

SAPTARI, Aug 23: A shopkeeper here was arrested by police on Monday on the charge of selling petroleum products in the black market.



A resident of Rajbiraj-6, Ranjit Das, 30, was found to be hoarding 23 litres of petrol at his shop, where he actually sells paddy.

He was found to be selling the petrol at a rate that is higher than the market price, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dan Bahadur Karki.


Acting on a tip-off, a police team from the District Police Office Saptari arrested Das and will now face action as per the prevalent law, DSP Karki said. RSS
