Term of 20 National Assembly lawmakers ending today

KATHMANDU, March 4: The term of as many as 20 lawmakers of the National Assembly who were nominated to their respective positions in 2017 is set to end today.

KATHMANDU, March 4: The term of as many as 20 lawmakers of the National Assembly who were nominated to their respective positions in 2017 is set to end today. 



The outgoing lawmakers from the main opposition party, CPN-UML are  Agam Prasad Bantawa Rai, Kavita Bogati, Komal Wali, Chakra Prasad Sinha, Nainkala Ojha, Parshuram Meghi Gurung, Ram Lakhan Chamar, and Suman Raj Pyakurel.

From the Nepali Congress (NC), the tenure of Driga Narayan Pandey, Tara Devi Bhatta, and Radheshyam Adhikari is set to end today as well. Likewise, the tenure of Khim Kumar Bika, Jeevan Buda, Dina Nath Sharma, and Shashikala Dahal of CPN (Maoist Center) is also ending today, along with CPN (Unified Socialist) lawmakers Udaya Sharma Poudel, Thagendra Prasad Puri, Shanti Kumari Adhikari GC, and Sher Bahadur Kunwar. 


Furthermore, the tenure of nominated lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari is also ending today. According to the round of voting held on 16 June 2017, the lawmakers who will be vacating their posts from today had filled the lottery for a term of four years. As per which, their term lasted only for four years.
