Three charged with pocketing allowances of ‘deceased’ senior citizens

KATHMANDU, Jan 7: The CIAA on Sunday filed a corruption case at the Special Court against three officials on the charge of pocketing the allowances deceased senior citizens.

Those charged include former secretaries of Dummana VDC of Bhojpur - Rewati Kumar Koirala and Manish Chaudhary - and office helper Tek Bahadur Shrestha. They have been accused of pocketing over Rs 500,000 by forging the documents of deceased senior citizens.


The accused, according to the CIAA charge-sheet, had been drawing the government allowance for the senior citizens by putting fake fingerprints on the documents.
