KATHMANDU, Nov 30: Times International College and Xavier International College have won the boys' and girls' titles respectively in the First Rosebud Rosebud Valley-wide Inter-school Basketball Tournament on Wednesday.
In the summit clash of the boys' event held at Rosebud's court, Times registered a 51-46 victory over CCRC College. Akash Nakarmi, who contributed highest 24 points for the winning team, was declared the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament.
Similarly, in the girls' event, Xavier edged past NASA International College 27-26 with the help of Karma Sherpa's highest 13 points. Mina Gurung of Xavier was declared the MVP of the tournamentfrom in the girls' section.
Nepal Basketball Association (NBA)'s General Secretary Narendra Thapa distributed trophies, medals and certificates to the winners.
Twelve teams in the boys' section and eight in the girls' section from Kathmandu valley had participated in the tournament that started from November 22.
