A great way to come out of your comfort zone, enjoy nature, spend time with your friends and family is by camping. Camping can be very fun activity but it also can be a lot of work. However, with a little bit of pre-planning and a few of these tips, you can make your camping experience memorable.

Select a campsite

Your shelter is a safe haven on any campground.  It’s where you will lay your head each night and where you’ll find shelter during nasty weather.  It also acts as a home-base during your camping adventure so comfort should be of utmost importance.  Ensure that your shelter delivers a comfortable experience.

Choose your tent

Choose a tent size that fits your needs. Be careful not to go overboard with larger tents because larger tents typically require more effort to put up and break down. Smaller tents provide more flexibility for placement on specific campsites than larger ones. Options for where to place the tent are good to have.

First aid kit

You cannot forget a first aid kit during your camping trip. Pack a small plastic box and fill it with a few basics like alcohol pads, antibacterial ointments, band-aids, and cotton swabs.

Keep your clothes warm

Especially if you’re camping in the winter, you can keep your clothes warm by keeping extra clothes in your sleeping bag while you sleep.

Headlamp lantern

Need more light that the amount your small headlamp can provide? A gallon milk jug or a translucent laundry jug cleaned out and filled with water can help lighten things up. Just attach the headlamp with the light facing toward the inside of the jug to get a stronger light!

Briquette fire starter

A recycled cardboard egg carton makes for great briquette storage and an equally useful kindle! Don’t forget to pack more kindle like cotton pads dipped in wax and a waterproof lighter.

Instant foods and smart packaging of food

Pack any instant food you can like coffee, instant-noodles, frozen food and some snack as it’ll be easy snack when you get hungry. Put your spices in a tic-tac box as it’ll keep the spices from escaping the box. Also putting your scrambled egg mixture in a plastic bottle saves you a lot of hassle.
