Tourism department starts issuing climbing permits for autumn

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has started issuing climbing permits for the autumn season this year. Officials at DoT said that the department has started issuing permits for the autumn season starting Tuesday.

KATHMANDU, Sept 1: The Department of Tourism (DoT) has started issuing climbing permits for the autumn season this year. Officials at DoT said that the department has started issuing permits for the autumn season starting Tuesday.



According to DoT, two expedition teams acquired permits to climb Mt Manaslu (8,163 meters) on Tuesday. The first team DoT approved consists of 15 team members with 10 male members and five female members.

Similarly, the other team with 10 members has also been permitted to scale the mountain for the autumn season. The department has collected a total of Rs 2.646 million as royalty from the climbers.
