CHITWAN, April 15: Transportation along the Narayanghat – Muglin road stretch resumed last night after the local authorities cleared the landslide debris at the Charkilo area.

According to the Area Police Office, Muglin, the landslide struck at 8 pm blocking the route. The landslide debris was cleared and transportation resumed at 11 pm. On Friday, transportation remained blocked for three hours when a landslide struck at the same location.

The local administration has urged travellers to use alternate route to avoid any accident as the location is prone to more landslides. The road stretch is currently being expanded and as the roadside hills are being dug out it is posing risk of more landslides.

The location lies four km from Muglin towards Narayangadh. Meanwhile, a person who fell into the Trishuli river last night from an area near the landslide site has been rescued. The person of an estimated 35 years of age has sustained deep injuries to his head. His identity is yet to be ascertained.

The person is receiving treatment at the Chitwan Medical College. He was walking towards Muglin when he slipped at around 8 pm from a location lying 100 meters from the landslide site. RSS
