Issuing a public statement on Monday, the repeated hike in the prices of petroleum products have severely affected various sectors including the cargo transport system. “If the government fails to withdraw the price hike immediately, the truck operators will be compelled to stop transporting goods,” reads the press release.
The transporters have also urged the government to revise the transport fares in line with the hike made in the prices of petroleum products. They maintained the authorities revised the fares last time when the price of diesel was Rs 104 per liter, which has now gone up to Rs 119 per liter.
