Two Aussies killed in jeep accident

UDAYPUR, Sept 17: Two Australian nationals -- a man and a woman -- died in a jeep accident when their vehicle veered off the road in a hilly area, two kilometers south of Ghurmi of Katari Municipality, along the Mid-Hills Highway on Monday.

UDAYPUR, Sept 17: Two Australian nationals -- a man and a woman -- died in a jeep accident when their vehicle veered off the road in a hilly area, two kilometers south of Ghurmi of Katari Municipality, along the Mid-Hills Highway on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Hushet Rudolf Carl and Hushet N Shitzlar, confirmed DSP Dhruba Kumar Shrestha of Area Police Office, Katari.

According to DSP Shrestha, Carl died on the spot while Shitzlar breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a local health post. The accident took place when a Tata Sumo (Na 1 Ja 8969), heading for Okhaldhunga from Kathmandu fell some 100 meters from the road at 1:30 pm.
