SOLUKHUMBU, Nov 28: Two children have been found dead in a hotel room at Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-2, Lukla of Solukhumbu on Tuesday. The circumstances of their death remain unknown.
Sangana Rai, 15, of Cheskam of Mahakulung Rural Municipality-3 who had been working at Hotel Everest Mountain Home in Lukla as maid, and her sister Khushi Rai, 9, were found dead in their room where they were sleeping.
Sangana had been working at the hotel for the past five years. Her younger sister Khushi was a fifth grader at Lukla Primary School.

The sisters had gone to sleep on Monday night and they were found dead on Tuesday morning. According to District Police Office, Solukhumbu, hotel staffers broke into their room after the girls did not respond to knocks on the door late in the morning.
Police have begun investigation into the deaths.
