Two drivers arrested for carrying passengers

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two drivers at Nagdhunga Check point for bringing passengers to Kathmandu by misusing the government-issued vehicle pass.

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two drivers at Nagdhunga Check point for bringing passengers to Kathmandu by misusing the government-issued vehicle pass.



A squad from Thankot Metropolitan Circle and Nagdhunga Metropolitan Sector arrested 37-year-old Surya Kiran Karmacharya, a resident of Banke, and 31-year-old Lok Bahadur Khatri, a resident of Kailali.

They were bringing passengers on buses with registration numbers Na 2 Kha 2285 and Na 6 Kha 1340.


According to Nepal Police Headquarters, the drivers misused the vehicle pass and carried passengers to Kathmandu.


Police investigation found that Karmacharya brought seven passengers from Rupadhiya and Nepalgunj for a total of Rs 21,000, while Khatri carried 12 passengers from Kailali and charged them Rs 18,000.
