Two officials caught red-handed while taking bribe

PARSA, July 27: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today caught two government officials red-handed while taking bribe from service seekers in Birgunj, Parsa.

BIRGUNJ, July 27: Two officials of Dhobini Rural Municipality-2 of Parsa were caught red-handed by a team of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Hetauda while taking bribe.



Reportedly, the officials were caught while taking a bribe of Rs 110,000. Both of them worked for a consumers' committee entrusted with the responsibility of blacktopping a road near Sansari temple. They have been accused of accepting 10% commission.

The non-gazetted officer of the consumers' committee Anamul Haque of Pachrauta, Bara and accountant Krishnanandan Yadav of Garuna, Rautahat have been arrested on charge of bribery. 


They had apparently asked for the commission after the completion of the project. The committee had provided the amount to them by first reporting it to CIAA. A team led by Bikash BK, an official of CIAA, Hetauda and Police Inspector Laxman Bahadur Khadka, booked both of them from the house of accountant Yadav in Pipara-14, Birgunj. 


They were counting the commission amount when police reached the spot.


The team of CIAA has refused  to give further details saying that investigation is still underway. The team is planning to take them to Hetauda for further investigation.
