MUGU, June 1: Two yarsa pickers died from altitude sickness in Mugu district.



The deceased have been identified as Man Bahadur Buda, 29, of Chhayanath Rara municipality-12 and Shovan Budha of the same municipality, said APF Police Constable Tilak Baduwal.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Mugu, Birendra Thapa, said both of them were brought to Mugu for treatment after they suffered from altitude sickness. They died in the course of treatment.  


Similarly, Raj Bahadur Sawad of Kampha village in Mugu district was also taken ill due to altitude sickness and was being brought to Mugu village from Mugu Patan for treatment, he added.


Mugum Karmarong rural municipality has given permission to the people to collect the precious herb in more than 25 highlands of the district from May 7.
