U-19 cricketer Dhakal felicitated

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The U-19 left arm spinner Sagar Dhakal who recently made his debut for the national side has been felicitated by Great Himalayan Cricket Academy (GHCA) in Kathmandu on Friday. He has been training in the academy for the last four years.

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The U-19 left arm spinner Sagar Dhakal who recently made his debut for the national side has been felicitated by Great Himalayan Cricket Academy (GHCA) in Kathmandu on Friday. He has been training in the academy for the last four years.



Dhakal traveled to Bangladesh to play in U-19 Asia Cup after impressing the selection committee headed by Coach Binod Das during the quadrangular one-day series in Lucknow, India. He won the man-of-the-match award against Afghanistan U-19 after registering a four-wicket-haul during the quadrangular series.

Dhakal was handed a cash prize of Rs 10,000 by the Member-Secretary of Nepal Sports Council Keshav Kumar Bista during the program.


Similarly, on the same occasion GHCA bid farewell to a 16-member cricket team for a tour in Bangladesh. The team is set to play against Bangladesh Club Cricket Academy, Smart Coaching Academy and Kakses Bazaar Cricket Academy during the tour.


A team of Bishank Subedi (Captain), Manish Singh, Aadit Subedi, Arjan Simkhada, Aakash Paudel, Srehan Sharma, Akshit Nepal, Nitesh Bista, Raj Verma, Precious Thapa, Aaditya Subedi, Parikshit Dhakal, Ekanath Nepal, Kailash Bista (mentor), Purushottam Jha (coach) and Bike Prasad (manager) will travel to Bangladesh to participate in a three-match series.
