UML candidate Devi Gyawali ahead of PM's daughter in Bharatpur

CHITWAN, May 15: The early vote count results of the mayoral post in the Bharatpur Metropolitan City have come out.



As many as 100 votes have been counted which began from Monday evening. Devi Gyawali of CPN-UML has taken lead with 49 votes so far.


Her closest rival Renu Dahal, daughter of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has  secured  one 41 votes.

Similarly, Dibya Sharma, UML candidate of deputy mayor, got 41 votes while Parbati Shah backed by CPN (MC) has got 36 votes.


With prime minister’s daughter Renu contesting the polls in the electoral alliance with NC, general people have been casting a curious eye on the election results of the Bharatpur Metropolitan City.


 There are 29 wards in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. The vote counting is underway at Covered Hall of Bharatpur.
