“We respect people’s mandate but oppose it when needed. Elected representatives at times fulfill their insatiable intent under the garb of democratic practices which will ultimately lead to despotic rule,” said Thapa.

Meanwhile, Thapa has accused the UML government of misusing state coffer and other resources of the country and urged the ruling parties not to implicate the other parties for their failure to strike unification.

Speaking at a program organized to address party cadres in Tansen on Wednesday, Thapa said that UML is covering its own weaknesses by blaming other parties saying that they are playing a foul game to fail the unification between UML and CPN (Maoist Center).

“The unification move between the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) is their internal issue which does not concern us at all,” said Thapa, adding, “We wish them prompt unification.”

Thapa said that UML should stop blaming the other parties as they could not strike unification deal over power sharing differences.
