Hari Prasad Adhikari of UML secured victory as mayor by gaining 6,705 votes. His close contender Matrika Prasad Yadav of Nepali Congress (NC) obtained 5,250 votes, said Chief Election Officer Murari Babu Shrestha.
Likewise, Uma Kafle of CPN-UML secured 6,172 votes to become deputy mayor. Her rival Madhavi Sharma of NC secured 5,224 votes. RSS
