Urmila ‘best short film’ at KIMFF

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Urmila: My Memory is My Power, a short film based on the story of freed Kamlari [bonded laborer] has been selected as the best short film at the 2016 Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF).

KATHMANDU, Dec 13: Urmila: My Memory is My Power, a short film based on the story of freed Kamlari [bonded laborer] has been selected as the best short film at the 2016 Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival (KIMFF).

The second prize went to Trembling Mountain that depicts how the 2015 earthquake was felt across the world, affecting victims from everywhere in the world and of all ages. Similarly, the third prize was given to Through the Unknown, which is about winter climbing.


Coming of Age and Il Passo received the jury’s special mention. Devaki: In Search of Devi, has been declared as the best documentary during the festival while Dadyaa has bagged the title of the best fiction film.Jury’s special mention has gone to Beyond the White Cane. Similarly, A Song for Barpark has been selected for the ICIMOD Prize.
