Vote count in Bharatpur metropolis: UML wins in 10, NC in 4, UML still takes lead at mayoral level

CHITWAN , May 23: Vote count has been over in 10 of a total of 29 wards in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.



On Tuesday morning, the result of vote count in Ward 12 was made public. CPN-UML candidate Narendra Kandangwa emerged victorious in the race for ward chairperson of Ward 12.


Ten CPN-UML candidates including Kandangwa have been elected chairperson in 10 wards.

Devi Gyawali, CPN-UML mayoral candidate continues to take the lead in the mayoral race.


According to the latest information regarding the number of votes counted thus far, CPN-UML mayoral candidate Devi Gyawali is leading his closest rival CPN (Maoist Center) mayoral candidate Renu Dahal by 3389 votes.


Gyawali has garnered 24,912 votes, compared to 21, 523 votes garnered by his closest rival Renu Dahal.


Vote count in Ward 27 is underway now.


CPN-UML has clinched chairperson positions in Wards  2,  4, 5, 7,  9, 10, 11, 12, 28 and 29 whereas Nepali Congress has won the race for ward chairperson in Wards 1, 3, 6 and 8.  


Vote count in Wards 10, 11 and 12 considered as UML’s stronghold   has already been over.
