Voters in Rolpa desperately waiting for Sunday's elections

ROLPA, Nov 26: After months of waiting and anticipation, Rolpa the origin of the decade-long Maoist insurgency, is ready for the parliamentary and provincial polls.

ROLPA, Nov 26: After months of waiting and anticipation, Rolpa the origin of the decade-long Maoist insurgency, is ready for the parliamentary and provincial polls.



The District Election Office (DEO), Rolpa has made all necessary preparations for the much-awaited elections. Now, the only thing that remains is the casting of ballots. There are altogether 80 polling centers and 160 polling stations in the district. As the district is considered highly sensitive in terms of security, a large number of security personnel have been deployed in various parts.

"Everything is ready and now we are eagerly waiting for Sunday morning," said Chief District Officer Dijon Bhattarai , adding, "Bringing the ballot boxes will be a major challenge for us but we don't need to worry about anything else."


According to Basudev Lal Shrestha, chief election officer of Rolpa, there were some issues which were raised during the local elections. However, those issues have been solved now, he informed.  Voters have already received their voter's identity cards and now are eagerly waiting for the time when they will be able to exercise their voting rights.
