KATHMANDU, May 1: Shiva Jung Thing, the ward chairman of Thaha Municipality-7 of Makwanpur, has been arrested with marijuana.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Karki mentioned that at 8 AM on Monday, a team of the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Area Police Office, Palung, arrested three people, including ward Chairman Thing, with marijuana.

On Monday morning, 76-year-old Bhim Bahadur Thing, Ward Chairman Shiva Raj Thing and 67-year-old Indra Bahadur Thing of Thaha Municipality-7 were arrested. Spokesperson Karki said that when the police searched the house of Indra Bahadur, 175 kg of cannabis powder was found.
Similarly, 27 kg of cannabis powder packaged in 30 bags was found from the houses of Ward Chairman Thing and Bhim Bahadur Thing.
The police said that all three people who were arrested with the marijuana have been kept at the Area Police Office, Palung, and further investigation is underway.
