WEATHER ALERT: It will take a few more days for weather to clear

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: It will take a few more days for the weather to get clear, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: It will take a few more days for the weather to get clear, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. 



Some places of the country have been witnessing partly to generally cloudy weather due to the influence of a low pressure system developed in northern Bangladesh and surrounding areas. 


Senior meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Nirajan Sapkota, said it would take a few more days to get a completely clear weather as the impact of the system would still remain for two or three days.

He, however, said that there is no possibility of rain immediately. The winter rainfall has not taken place so far this year as it occurred in December last year. Usually, 3.5 per cent rainfall takes place from mid-November to mid February. 


Now, the sky in the hill areas of Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province is partly to generally cloudy while most of the areas of Tarai are experiencing thick fog. 


The hill areas of the country will remain cloudy while the weather of other remaining areas will remain generally clear during night. 


According to the latest details of Meteorological Forecasting Division, the minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley today has been recorded at 8.8 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius.
