What we saw at Teku Hospital (photo feature)

KATHMANDU, May 13: Nepal is being ravaged by the deadlier second wave of the coronavirus disease. Around 10,000 new cases are being detected on a daily basis and more than 100 patients died of the disease every day over the past few days.

KATHMANDU, May 13: Nepal is being ravaged by the deadlier second wave of the coronavirus disease. Around 10,000 new cases are being detected on a daily basis and more than 100 patients died of the disease every day over the past few days.



According to the data released by the health ministry, Nepal’s COVID-19 test positive rate docks around 45 percent. Therefore, most hospitals that treat corona patients are choke-full.

As we reached Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital in Kathmanud’s Teku on Thursday afternoon, the situation was alarming. All beds were occupied. No space was seen in the corona ward. While some patients’ relatives and attendants were busy finding and asking for beds, some others were praying for their dear ones’ lives.
