WHO Director General Dr Tedros meets PM Deuba

KATHMANDU, April 22: Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today.

KATHMANDU, April 22: Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba today.


During a meeting at the PM's residence in Baluwatar this morning, Prime Minister Deuba lauded the leadership of Director General Dr Ghebreyesus during the COVID-19 pandemic and thanked him for his significant assistance in distributing vaccines to Nepal at that time.

Director General Dr Tedros expressed his happiness that Nepal has vaccinated most of its people against the coronavirus, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson and Joint Secretary Sewa Lamsal. Director General Dr Tedros said that Nepal's contribution to the health sector was exemplary and commendable.


Director General Dr Tedros arrived in Nepal on Thursday on a three-day visit at the invitation of Health and Population Minister Birodh Khatiwada. He also had a meeting with President Bidya Devi Bhandari earlier today.
