Wild elephants destroy sugarcane worth 800,000

KANCHANPUR, Oct. 26: Wild elephants straying from the Shuklaphanta National Park have gone on rampage, destroying sugarcane farming at Laljhadi rural municipality-4 of Kanchanpur district. A herd of around 20 wild elephants went on a roadrage destroying sugarcane farmlands amounting to more than Rs. 800,000 so far. Farmers said that their calls to concerned authority to resolve the problem have fallen on a deaf ear.
