BARDIYA, May 27: A woman has been lying unconscious at a hospital in Kohalpur since five days after being beaten black and blue by her husband.
Chotkani Yadav, 33, of Bansgadhi Municipality-5, who sustained serious head insuries, is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kohalpur-based Teaching Hospital. Despite receiving treatment, her condition is deteriorating day by day. Her ailing health has added further woes to her family members. She was reportedly beaten with an iron rod by her husband.

The victim's brother Dhanesh Yadav informed that her condition is critical. "We will have to take her somewhere else if her condition does not improve," he said.
Her husband had beaten her with a rod apparently over a family dispute. However, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained as the victim is unconscious and the perpetrator is currently at large.
After the incident, she was taken to the hospital with the help of her neighbors. Rabi Lal Aslami of Area Police Office (APO), Bansgadhi informed that police have expedited search for the culprit.
