Yadav-led Janata Samajbadi Party to join Deuba cabinet

KATHMANDU, July 18: Janata Samajbadi Party-led by Upendra Yadav has decided to join the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

KATHMANDU, July 18: Janata Samajbadi Party-led by Upendra Yadav has decided to join the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government. 



A meeting of the majority members of the JSP parliamentary party held on Saturday made a decision to this effect. The party has demanded seven ministers and one state minister in the cabinet.

According to JSP lawmaker Mohammad Istiyaq Rai, 19 of the total 32 JSP lawmakers participated in the meeting called by Yadav. He said that the party will join the government to raise its agenda on the basis of a common minimum programme agreed among coalition partners.


JSP has decided to raise the agenda of constitution amendment, Citizenship Bill, wihtrawing cases against party cadres and declaring public holiday on the festivals of Muslim and indieneous communities. The party has called a meeting of its central executive committee on Monday.
