Yeti Airlines adds two ATR aircraft in its fleet

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Yeti Airlines has purchased two ATR 72-500 aircraft as a part of its business expansion. The airline has purchased two aircraft with a capacity of 72 seats. Both aircraft landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday evening.

KATHMANDU, Feb 1: Yeti Airlines has purchased two ATR 72-500 aircraft as a part of its business expansion. The airline has purchased two aircraft with a capacity of 72 seats. Both aircraft landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday evening.



The airline added the aircraft three and a half months after Asian Life Insurance entered the company as a new partner. The insurance company bought 49 percent of the airline's shares in mid-October.

With the ATR bought from Bangladesh, the number of aircraft with the airline has increased to seven. The newly-acquired aircraft have received Nepali registrations 9N-AOF and 9N-AOH.


The spokesperson of the company, Sudarshan Bertaula, said that the added aircraft will serve the destinations they are currently flying to. The airline currently has regular flights to Kathmandu, Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Simara, Pokhara, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj.


The airlines are ready to provide regular flight services after one week after completing the necessary paperwork.


Subhash Sapkota, chief executive officer of the airline, said that the aircraft were added to make domestic air services more convenient and accessible. He said that there is a plan to buy three more aircraft within the year 2024.
