KATHMANDU, Sept 2: Yeti Distillery Pvt. Ltd has launched 8848 Rye Vodka with a special limited-edition release featuring the artwork of renowned artist Tsherin Sherpa.

According to a statement issued by the company, the 8848 Rye Vodka in a new black bottle showcasing Sherpa’s artwork is limited to 30,000 bottles. Tsherin Sherpa is a contemporary and internationally acclaimed artist from Kathmandu, Nepal. His artwork is exhibited in many prestigious venues worldwide and in 2022, Sherpa became the first Nepali artist to represent the country at the Venice Biennale. He is also currently showcasing his first solo museum exhibition at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA).

“I have created an image of the Himalayas fused with motifs and colors of Thangka art. The merger depicts the collective Himalayan spirit as an amalgamation of our landscape and cultures. This image is mirrored upside down to show the merger dissolving away and hinting at the uncertain future of our heritages due to abrupt changes in global climate — both environmental and cultural”, the statement quoted Tsherin Sherpa as saying.
