KATHMANDU, Oct 17: The highest number of COVID-19 infected people in the Kathmandu Valley is that of those aged between 21 to 40 years.
According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the people aged between 21 to 40 are among the worst-hit by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Valley.

As many as 14,797 individuals aged between 31 to 40 years have contracted COVID-19 in the Valley as of Friday, followed by 13,834 individuals aged between 21 to 30 years. The Kathmandu Valley has recorded the lowest cases of COVID-19 among elderly people above 80 years, with only 582 COVID-19 cases reported so far.
As many as 8,787 individuals aged between 41 and 50 years have contracted COVID-19 in the Valley. Similarly, 5,525 people aged between 51 to 60 and 2,779 aged between 61 to 70 and 2,817 aged between 11 to 20 have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as of Friday in the Valley.
A total of 1,478 people aged between 71 to 80 years and 1,390 minors aged between 0 to 10 years have also been diagnosed with COVID-19 as of Friday.
Of the total active cases in the Valley, 80 percent are currently staying in isolation facilities in Kathmandu, 13 percent in Lalitpur and seven percent are in Bhaktapur. On Friday alone, the Kathmandu Valley witnessed 2,402 new cases of COVID-19 including 1,445 males and 957 females.
