MAHOTTARI, April 19: Three members of the same family died when a bus and a motorcycle collided in Mahottari.



In the accident that took place near the railway track in Gaushala Municipality-1 of Mahottari on Wednesday afternoon, three people riding the motorcycle died.


DSP Dilip Kumar Giri, spokesperson for the District Police Office Mahottari, informed Republica that the deceased were motorcyclist 26-year-old Amrit Mandal of Kalyanpur, Siraha, his wife 24-year-old Anju Mandal and niece 6-year-old Anshu Mandal.

The three were killed when a bus (BA 3 KHA 2396) going from Samsi to Janakpur, and the motorcycle (01-004 PA 6819) going to Gaushala collided.


According to the police, motorcyclist Amrit and his niece, who were seriously injured in the accident, were taken to the Bardibas-based Shubha Swastik Hospital and his wife was treated at National Trauma Center.  During treatment doctors declared them dead.


Spokesman Giri said that further investigation is underway.
